Who We Are
"Vespado and Sons" is a family business founded in 2010 in Rakitovo, a small town in the heart of the Western Rhodopes. We make homemade preserves, jams and syrups just the way they are made at home: by hand, in small batches and following a time-tested family recipe.
How We Work
Everything is prepared in our own workshop in Rakitovo. The fruit is processed by hand, and we put no preservatives, colourings, stabilisers or flavourings in our jars. That is why every jar tastes like the preserves we remember from childhood.
Wild Berries – Where It All Began
Wild berry preserve is the heart of Vespado. Blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries from the Rhodope forests are the basis of many of our products. Today we make dozens of kinds of homemade preserves and jams – from the classic strawberry, sour cherry and apricot to rarer ones such as rose, dandelion or hot pepper preserve – as well as syrups made to a family recipe.
Pine Honey
Pine honey, also known as pine preserve, holds a special place in our range. We make it from green pine cones and pine shoots – a traditional Rhodope product.
